COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN 2022

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A FLUID PLAN THAT WE WILL BE UPDATING IN ACCORDANCE TO CDC GUIDELINES, NY STATE REGULATIONS/RESTRICTIONS, SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION, AND LOCAL OUTBREAKS TO ENSURE WE ARE ABLE TO CONTINUE OFFERING OUR IN-PERSON KINDERMUSIK CLASSES AT PATHWAYS TO LEARNING, INC. (updated 6/1/2022)

Kindermusik at Pathways to Learning, Inc holds classes for newborns to age eight. The most effective risk mitigation for this age group include staying home when not feeling well, proper air flow in indoor spaces, and proper hand hygiene for everyone.

All current classes are being held indoors either in our Red Hook classroom or at StarryBird Kids. Class start & end times will be staggered with 30 minutes in between to limit families from different classes mixing together and allow for cleaning.

Instruments and props will be sanitized between classes. It is important to acknowledge that bringing your child to class should assume some risk, for our kids will be kids. If you are at all concerned with a baby or child getting too close, please talk to us about online class options.

You may enter the indoor studio no more than 10 minutes early to allow for proper cleaning between classes. If you arrive at the studio earlier than 10 minutes before your class start time, please wait in your car.

MASK Optional -

Masking is currently optional for our classes. We conitnue to monitor community spread and will adjust if needed.

WASH YOUR HANDS -

We are able to remain open because when you wash your hands and/or use sanitizer OFTEN, you significantly limit the spread of Covid-19.

We have hand sanitizer stations at the entrance to the classroom (indoor and outdoor).

We request that everyone sanitize or wash hands before, during and after class as needed. Our bathroom with soap, hot water, paper towels and garbage bins should provide all that is necessary for washing hands if you would prefer to wash hands.

OTHER GUIDELINES:

STAY HOME WHEN ILL -

You and your child may NOT enter the building if you or they are ill.

We have a generous make up policy for classes. Please use our online make up class scheduler to schedule a make up for missed classes class. If you have ANY question about whether you should attend class due to symptoms, please contact our team through the remind app or via email at info@pathways-to-learning.com.

Teachers will call in a substitute teacher or immediately cancel in person class and may hold online if they are ill.

This policy is very strict and will be re-enforced and communicated often. Do not enter the building or come to a class when you or your child are ill.

HEALTH SCREENING -

If your child’s temperature is above 100.0 in the past 2 days, stay home and get well.  Feel free to schedule a make up class. Please refer to the CDC guidelines for COVID positive test or exposure found here https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/if-you-were-exposed.html

Families and teachers may NOT enter the building if you, your child, or the teacher can answer YES to any of the following questions:

  • Are you experiencing a NEW cough, shortness of breath or a sore throat?

  • Have you experienced any vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours?

  • Have you had a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit today or within the last 48 hours?

If you, your child, or the teacher answer YES to any of the above, you should not enter the Pathways to Learning Kindermusik classroom, but rather you will be encouraged to give consideration to contacting your health provider. It is expected that all persons attending in-person classes will self--administer this health screening and administer the health screening for minor children and will not attend class if they answer yes to any of the screening questions.

DISINFECTING & CLEANING -

We’ve added 30 minutes between all classes for cleaning and disinfecting of:

  • ALL common touch points (door handles, sanitizer stations, light switches, counters). We will also ask families to help us by wiping down surfaces with provided disinfecting wipes after using the bathroom.

  • All materials for class

  • We will vacuum often and steam clean often.

  • Room purifiers/fans will be put on HIGH before and after each class. Shoes are taken off and coats and bags are to be hung or placed in the studio entrance.

ONLINE MUSIC CLASSES -

We can and will quickly adjust to ALL live online classes should we need to close the studio to in person classes due to any local community outbreak or state regulations.

Policies

There are a few important policies our families need to be aware of.

  • Deposits and payments -

Monthly - Automatically charged to debit/credit card on file the first of each month September - May.  Credit card must be on file for this option. $50 Deposit payment due upon registration. Remaining payments will be divided equally into 9 payments and will be due September 9 and then the first of the month October 1st - May 1st. The Deposit is taken from your monthly payments throughout the school year so your monthly payment will be less than the monthly rate. Please note tuition cancellations require 30 days notice in writing which allows us to credit you any unused deposit funds before issuing your final payment. We do not wish to cause your family additional hardship - if you feel you have special circumstances that would prohibit you from joining us given this policy do contact us.

Quarterly and Biannual discounts continue to be available with policies as listed here.

  • For the time period we will be outdoors we may be able to accommodate make up classes and will allow 1 one make-up spot for each class held outdoors. To secure a spot you must schedule your make-up class through your family portal online. Please contact us at info@pathways-to-learning.com if you experience difficulty.

  • We require a minimum of 30 day notice to change your enrollment status to inactive (a.k.a. discontinue your enrollment). Your final payment will be prorated based on the number of classes available to your child as determined by the date which is 30 days after your notification.

We understand this is a lot to parse through, but we want to ensure the health and safety of our enrolled families and staff. Your compliance is appreciated as we navigate these challenges and make it to the other side.

XOXO
